Yoshiaki Oiwa

● Career & Achievements

Yoshiaki Oiwa graduated from Nagoya Gakuin Junior and Senior High School in Showa Ward, Nagoya, Aichi. He was a member of the equestrian team at Meiji University before moving to Europe in 2001 to pursue an international career in eventing.
He won the individual gold medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha and made his Olympic debut at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He has since represented Japan at five consecutive Olympic Games—Beijing, London, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, and Paris—establishing himself as one of Japan's leading event riders.
At the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta–Palembang, he claimed both the individual and team gold medals. At the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, he helped Japan win the bronze medal in the team eventing competition, securing the nation's first Olympic equestrian medal in 92 years.
Today, Oiwa continues to compete at the highest level as one of Japan's premier event riders on the international stage.
